Doon Valley Marathon 2022 - Shaheed Run

To give tribute to the martyrs of our country and to give promote post covid fitness, Mr. Ravi Kumar ( Founder of Ambhos ) had organised a running event, Doon Valley Marathon as Shaheed Run. The event was adorned with the auspicious presence of our Chief Guests Mr. Ashok Kumar, DGP, Dehradun and Mr. Sanjay Garg, Director, and Principal Promoter of Pacific Golf Estate (Venue Partners). The event had started with the auspicious hands of Col Krishan Singh Badhawar, Brand Ambassador, Doon Valley Marathon, in the dawn. He completed 100km kilometres and paid tribute to our martyrs. The Face of the Event, Major Shashi Mehta, motivated all the runners and she herself came first in her category. This Shaheed Run would not have reached its heights without the phenomenal support of our guests Mr. Alok Chhetri, Mr. Anil Mohan, Mr. Op Manocha, Ms. Shakti Manocha, and Mr. Naresh Nayal.  We would also like to express our heartiest gratitude to all sponsors. If it would not have been the help of our gear partners - COROS, medal partners – Amrada, hydration partner – Bailley, refreshment partner – Channi by Himalayan Zone, support partners – Dehradun Cycling Club and venue partners – Pacific Golf Estate, this event would not have been successful.  The first flag off was at 5.30a.m. for half marathon, second at 6.00am for 10 kilometres and at 6.30am for 5 kilometres. There were 4 age categories for people between ages 14 to 34, 35 to 40, 45 to 54, and 55 above. Male and female winners were awarded separately for all age categories of the three races. All the 72 winners were honoured with trophies and cash prizes. Maximum slots were filled by defence personnel, and they came out with shining colours. The participants of the race varied from 8 years old children to 65 old people. They all were winners. There were volunteers from different domains who helped us out in their best by showing path to the running participants and by providing support during the event. The collective zeal and enthusiasm, of the runners the people who lend us their helping hand in this event, made this event successful.
